Seoul Station Guide

Seoul's warehouse-café district, packed with pop-ups and design shops.

Seongsu was a district of shoe factories and auto repair shops. It is now the city's trend capital: converted warehouses hold cafés, bakeries, galleries and a rotating cast of brand pop-up stores.

It is busiest at weekends, when the queues for the latest pop-up stretch down the street. Weekday mornings are calmer.

Which exit to take

Exit numbers can change during station works. Check the yellow exit boards on the platform before you leave the gates.

Food nearby

Bakeries and brunch dominate, with shoe-workshop-era hole-in-the-wall restaurants in between. Expect queues at the famous bakeries on weekends.

Good to know

  • The Seongsu branch of Line 2 starts here: check the destination on the train before boarding.
  • Many pop-ups need online booking in Korean apps; walk-ins are often allowed on weekdays.
