Itaewon

梨泰院 · イテウォン
한강진Hangangjin

Seoul's international district: food from everywhere and late nights.

Itaewon grew up next to a US Army base and became Seoul's most international neighbourhood, with restaurants from around the world, rooftop bars, clubs and vintage shops.

The neighbouring areas, Haebangchon, Gyeongnidan-gil and Hannam-dong, each have their own scene, from hillside cafés to designer boutiques.

Which exit to take

Exit numbers can change during station works. Check the yellow exit boards on the platform before you leave the gates.

Food nearby

This is where to find food that isn't Korean: Middle Eastern, Indian, Mexican, Thai and more, plus Seoul's best brunch scene.

Good to know

  • Line 6 only: change at Samgakji (Line 4) or Hapjeong (Line 2).
  • Seoul Central Mosque is on the hill behind the main street.
