Ikseon-dong's hanok cafés, Jongmyo Shrine and old-school Jongno nights.

Jongno 3-ga is a three-line interchange (Lines 1, 3 and 5) in the old centre. It is the station for Ikseon-dong, a tiny 1920s hanok neighbourhood turned into cafés, bakeries and restaurants.

In the evening the streets around the station fill with old-school pojangmacha (street tent bars) and barbecue joints, and Jongmyo Shrine is a few minutes away.

Which exit to take

Exit numbers can change during station works. Check the yellow exit boards on the platform before you leave the gates.

Food nearby

Old Jongno is cheap and lively in the evening: barbecue alleys, tent bars and tteokbokki.

Good to know

  • Lines 1, 3 and 5 meet here; exits are shared and numbered up to 15.
  • Changdeokgung and Insadong are both walkable.
